Ásmundur was on his way flying to the woods. It was warm weather and a slight breeze was blowing. The big purple-blue-red dragon decided to visit a part of the woods where he hadn’t been for a long time, maybe there is something interesting to see. After finding this part, he landed between the trees.
At first, there was nothing special to see, apart from some deers and wolves running away from the big dragon. Ásmundur started to look around. He sniffed here and there, picking up the scent of different things and creatures. One scent attracted special attention. It was very dragon-like, but different from the scents of dragons he knew. Ásmundur followed it, until he reached a small clearing.
Some metres away, a little green and blue creature was sitting in the grass. It had wings, spikes on the back, and scales. But it seemed to have a long slim body and no hind legs. Ásmundur didn’t know what it was, apparently some kind of dragon. He started to walk slowly towards this creature. It had its back turned to Ásmundur and not become aware of the big dragon yet. Grinning, Ásmundur decided to touch the little creature from behind with his paw, to scare it a bit for fun, before asking it what it was. At least, if it doesn’t run away from the big, scary dragon. But at the moment he raised his right front paw, something big and strong coiled round Ásmundur’s body. At the same time, the little creature became aware of the dragon and startled. It was apparently some kind of serpentine dragon. But Ásmundur had no time to ask it what it was, because the thing which had coiled around his body seized him and pulled him backwards. Then it turned him around.
Ásmundur was staring at a big, dark blue and scaled snout which snorted at him. This creature looked a lot like the small one, but it was very big. Bigger than Ásmundur, and the dragon got really afraid. This creature also had two long sharp fangs, sticking out between the jaws. And now the purple-blue-red dragon knew what both creatures were: Lindwürmer! A Lindwurm is a serpentine dragon with long poisonous fangs. And it loves to eat dragons. Ásmundur had never seen one so far, but now he had not only seen it, he got caught by one of them. This Lindwurm must have lain somewhere in the shadows of the trees and moved very silently, Ásmundur had neither seen nor heard it. And it seemed to think that the dragon had tried to harm its baby. The Lindwurm opened its big predatory jaws wide, and before Ásmundur could say more than „Hey!“, his head got pushed into the warm slimy maw of this ravenous beast.
The dragon was quite a big prey for the Lindwurm, but that seemed to be no problem. After seconds, Ásmundur felt strong throat muscles seize him and push him inside a dark, slippery and very tight throat. It happened so fast that the dragon could not realize what was going on. He has made a big mistake by trying to touch the little Lindwurm, though the big one might have regarded him as food anyway. He should have stayed away from this part of the woods, but he would never have expected something like this, as he was a big dragon, and normally at the top of the food chain.
Ásmundur slid deeper and deeper through the hot, slick tightness, massaged heavily by the muscles and feeling his paws and wings getting pressed to his body. Finally his snout pushed through the pylorus and he could sniff the smell of a Lindwurm’s stomach. Ásmundur’s tail was still hanging out of the slobbery maw, but vanished more and more into it. The flexible stomach got bigger, the more of the big dragon slid inside. Finally, he was swallowed completely and curled up anxiously. The stomach walls were very tight and it was hard to breathe here. The dragon asked himself what had happened. Could it be possible that he really got eaten, he, a big dragon, which is normally the one who eats others?
While Ásmundur tried to realize the whole thing and felt the massage of the wet stomach walls, the Lindwurm licked over its jaws, full, and slightly exhausted from the swallowing . The small Lindwurm was now sitting between the tail and the body of the big one, happy about being protected. Ásmundur knows , a bit too late, that dragons should better not approach little serpentine dragons. They are not alone.
