This was one of the first figures I ever picked up in the Godzilla Wars packaging, and my very first glimpse at Battra. My initial reaction to it was, "Whoa, this is a cool looking Mothra!"

Well, I was half right. :P

Battra was another that didn't get much of a redesign, much like Moguera (albeit Battra kinda bulked up, whereas Mogey slimmed down). However, his color palette is what got redesigned the most. His body is obviously dark gray instead of black, and his wings are red with black lightning patterns, rather than black with red patterns.

The recolor...huh. Maybe this is what Battra looked like before he turned evil. Or, I dunno, kinda like with my personal "what if" with the Mothra variant, he looks irradiated/energized.

I originally wanted to do both Mothra and Battra in the same drawing, but I felt the focus on each character is better served with them individually. I still have them complimenting one another through their poses, Mothra looking up, and Battra looking down.
