With all this detail, it's hard to believe this is a "simplified" version of Shayla, but it's actually simpler than previous versions where I've drawn in feathers. Today's feather practice is brought to you by the inspiration of
Windfalcon_Art (specifically used this as a feather reference: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13539427/). I'm much, MUCH better at feathered wings now. I finally figured out some of the patterns. Also, note that Shayla -should- have scales on the back of her wings as shown here (usually ignored in previous art). This is basically Shayla's impossible standards of what she -wants- to look like. Less frills are easier to draw, and the more "normal" dragon headdress instead of her usual characteristic "flower" shape. I might use this version in future art sometimes just because it's simpler. However, this isn't what she -actually- looks like. ;)
