Hmm,never really heard of this ship.
Then again, I haven't been keeping up with the fandom lately.

Its been toyed among some.
Mostly they put tiara in a similar light of Helga (liking the character, but being to proud to even say it to anybodies face) from Hey Arnold, although its a little bit harder to do since the writers haven't developed her all that much besides using her as a villian for the CMC, I'd love to see an ep that showed she's not all that bad, bit I'm not really getting my hopes up.

Hmm...that does sound very plausible! Perhaps the reason why she's harsh on them, is that she wants to be friends with them,. yet her supposed social status prevents her from acting like she wants to and must put up a sort of Facade?

Partly, I mean, we've seen that she's kind of a jerk, but on the other hand she makes that friendship work with silver spoon, (they both kind of put up with each other), we know she genuinly loves and admires her father (She was the only pony that stayed awake during her father's lecture), and probably knows applebloom better than the rest of the cmc (given that her family does a lot of business with the apples)

And, people liked trixie and paired her with twilight before her redemption, Even if her ego was WAY bigger than tiara's, so yep.
