Holy sweet bejeezus, was THIS an artistic WORKOUT!!!
For this commission, Mr. Koa had me make a poster of a film inspired by Cats Don't Dance, called Birds Don't Sing, starring Manu Koa and Kalena Pau.
Also starring in this film are the incredible
, and the amazing sculptor,

This was definately a big challenge, but I really enjoyed being creative with the idea. As a big fan of Cats Don't Dance, this made it especially fun! It was also my humble honor to get to draw Likeshine's and Painted Dog's characters for the first time, as I really enjoy their work!

D'awwwwww! Thank you so much for the lovely movie poster artwork! It looks just like the real thing! I've always loved the movie and I'm so happy to see the film immortalized with Manu and Kalena.
Lovely work on the villains in the movie ( painteddog and likeshine). I could easily see them working hard to make sure Manu and Kalena don't sing in Hollywood. :)

I used to live in an apartment where the people upstairs kept their parrot alone, outside on the deck just above my window...I assure you, that constant, attention seeking shrieking was far from singing. :(
