Seriously though...re-watch Patriot, and the Daniel Day Lewis version of Last of the Mohicans. I do recommend getting a neckerchief or a black stock. Take a look at the James Townsend site (http://jas-townsend.com/index.php) He's put together a number of youtube videos on outfitting, and even cooking, which really raises eyebrows at an event.
