A.B.A.T.E. is an organization that looks out for the rights of motorcycle riders. Our local chapter has an event in May called the Spring Fling.
Normally it's a couple hundred bikers drinking beer, eating yummy grilled foods, and just generally having a good time. Unfortunately this year it was barely over 40 degrees and drizzling off and on. At one point I did a quick head count and came up with about 80 people.
Still, it's always a fun time. Although sales were down, we did about the same amount per-capita as we usually do, so it was the weather that did us in.
If you would like to know more about ABATE, do a google search for "ABATE of (your state)" Each state has it's own chapter.

Is a biker right to ride along beside you in same lane or squeez in next to you so they can turn right when your waiting to go forward threw a light? I am all for fair rights but their are some thing they do that I hate. Or When they drive in formation and don't let any one pass :P
The answer to your first question is that it depends on the state. In Illinois, lane splitting is illegal, in California it's not only legal, but encouraged. You would have to look up the laws in your state.
As for the second, rude drivers are rude drivers, it doesn't matter if they have 2 wheels or 4.
The kinds of things ABATE mostly looks out for are governments attempting to enact laws that specifically target motorcyclists, or additional requirements that only motorcyclists have to meet.
For example, there are often attempts to set maximum noise limits on motorcycles. This might make sense because a lot of riders like to mod their bikes to be loud. But many times limits they try to set are lower than the federal limits for cars, and lower than the federally approved stock pipes that the manufacturer puts on. This would mean all owners in that state would have to change their pipes after buying, and people from out of state would risk getting tickets when they travel through that state. ABATE steps in and says you have to treat motorcycles like cars. Either lower the limit on all vehicles, or set the motorcycle limit to be the same as cars.

Thanks for the enlightenment. Ya they should treat them just as Cars. Those Cats up on capital hill are puds to subjugate you guys. Seems like they like to take advantage of the cross country travel bikers like to do making it legal in some states and adjacent ones so ya think ya safe driving threw BAM ya get a ticket that's just entrapment right there!
Nice Decals by the way are they instant stick or ya have to use water apile and such?

It's not just capitol hill. Another common example is some small township needs to generate revenue so they set up a drunk driver checkpoint and pull over all the motorcycles going through their town. ABATE will come in and explain that drunk driver checkpoints are perfectly legal, but singling out motorcycles is not. They can have their checkpoint, but they have to pull over at least as many cars as motorcycles.
Instant stick for the most part. If you are applying to a complex curved surface you can use the wet method to give you more working time.
