Snowy and I swapped desks this morning. I have a new keyboard now, which is WONDERFUL and I'm using the pull-out side panel for my tablet. I also got a new desk chair with no armrests so I don't have to worry about bumping into the desk like I did with my last one. In short, I think this will work a lot better except my monitor is too wide to fit. I'm contemplating selling this monitor and getting something smaller, or just dealing with it until I get a bigger desk that will actually fill up most of the wall. I found one at Ethan Allen I really liked but the whole setup costs about $5000. @_@" This is tolerable for a while. I'd rather save up to get a new tablet first that may just replace my monitor entirely anyway. ^^"

The whole room now seems a lot less cluttered. My desk before was in a corner. I like this a lot better. It's a lot more open and I don't feel like I'm stuck in a closet or something.

The shelf on the far left is probably going to lose those purple drawers. I have a bunch of Styrofoam shapes in there for reference but I don't really use them. I'm about to toss them into the garage sale pile and actually put my art books on that shelf. Right now the cabinet of the desk is filled with every single Disney and animated movie we own, but I'll more than likely move those onto the other oak shelving in the room that's actually not in this picture. I'm not going to get rid of the shelving pictured. My late great-grandfather made them. :)
