I am proud to wear the SJW banner, and being immersed in the culture, I have personally encountered zero (count em: 0) people who want anyone to die or advocate genocide or violence upon ANYONE. It's a ridiculously overhyped impression of feminists and SJW's that is entirely untrue. Have things like this been said? Maybe? Sure? But I certainly have never seen it. I'm on there because I spoke heavily about the misandry behind the Isla Vista shooting, and continue to address the problematic nature of the patriarchy, and how it affects women and men both.
Wait, you spoke out against misandry? That would make you an anti-SJW.
Though I have seen other things, like saying that people from marginalized groups cannot be bigots, lots of hatred for bronies, hatred for men who like traditionally feminine things, accusing critics of being rape apologists, MRAs, etc.
And for the Isla Vista shooting, I've seen people say that they no longer identify as male (because that's totally how being trans works) and that they believe that castration is the only solution to stopping this.
Okay, you're an SJW, can you explain to me the "not all men" thing? Because I see the possibility of doing it with Muslims when they say they're not like Osama bin Laden, people making fun of the "Not All Muslims" argument. I see it more just as a way to blame ALL MEN for the actions of one crazy person, that while I believe that male entitlement is a problem, I don't believe that male entitlement caused the killings. I still believe (as does my feminist mom) that murders are caused by crazy people with weapons.

I know what Patriarchy is. I consider myself a feminist. I know that feminists IRL care about toxic gender norms for everyone. I'm just saying that this group of so-called feminists on tumblr rightfully advocate for women to be able to do "masculine" things like play video games, but feel threatened by men liking My Little Pony and Sailor Moon, claiming these men are "stealing" it from little girls and "ruining" them, when these feminists should be supportive of men who defy patriarchal gender roles. I doubt these people exist much outside of the internet, but on Tumblr, these so-called "feminists" seem to be quite prominent. I know they do not represent mainstream feminism, but they do seem to turn people off from this gender liberation movement.
