Sun Ponies are scholarly ponies that harness light and protect it in the darkest reaches of Equestria. They follow a loose caste system and are known for their taste in books, fashion, and general design.

They are born with an organ-like bulb that harnesses energy and orbs that are made up of light. Both are a life source and supply light.
