I wouldn't get the base unless it was a 2012-2013 skyactive with the tech package or the sport with the 2.5 engine.
I really enjoy the speed but if you aren't a big car enthusiast you wont fully enjoy the speed. You can get all the fancy bits the speed has and can also get things like a sunroof and heated seats, which aren't available for the speed 3 in the states.
I get around 30 on the highway and 21 in the city. Its not bad considering the rating is 18/25. The skyctive is 40 highway though.
