Character for one of my personal comic projects that will most likely dwell between my fantasy and existence for all eternity because I pretty much suck bigtime at drawing comics in one pace.

Style test to see if it works, it's fast, simplified and functional so far so I might roll with it. Still need to practice my backgrounds, all I ever use for them are gradients TnT'

Welp, might as well slap some of this guys history on here:

He grew up with his mother in a small village near the emperors state, he defends his village against the continuous attacks of usually drunken soldiers that come visit for supplies and entertainment. Maru hates the emperor with a passion and swore to kill him for what he allowed to be done to his hometown. Maru's father left before Maru was even born and his mother never speaks of him or what he was like.
Now comes the tricky part: Maru is actually the emperors offspring. His mother was raped by the current emperor in his earlier days when he still served the previous emperor as a soldier. Maru's mother got pregnant and devoted her life to let her son grow into a fine warrior.

He usually wears black pants and a light colored katana with long, blue ribbons on the handle. If he travels he often wears a black cloak to blend in as his bright fur will be quite noticeable in a crowd. His feet are often covered in bandages but he never wears boots as he finds them uncomfortable.
