So I'm thinking about selling this original cel of Robin from Disney's Robin Hood.
Its one of a kind. Large. In excellent condition (no paint separation, bubbles, cracking or known issues) It is slightly wavy, which is normal for older cels.
The character size is 10 inches tall. thats from the belt to the tip of the feather in his cap and about 5 inches from elbow to elbow.
It has the Disney seal in the corner.
I'm selling it without the frame (because I really don't want to have to ship that with the glass) I'll include the custom mat though. It fits nicely in a ready made 16x20 frame.
**So offers was probably the worst way to go about this, since I'm still getting offers of $50. hahaha
Large, undamaged cels of Robin Hood (Himself, not other characters. Other characters or Robin in disguise usually go for a bit less) usually sell for $800 to $1,200. I'm looking for around $600-$700 and I will accept payments from a buyer. But I won't ship until its paid in full.
Shipping and insurance is extra and I'll need your address for a shipping quote.

Sure.. I don't mind answering that. I've been collecting Disney cels for over 20 years. I have well over 100 at the moment and several from Robin Hood (My gallery: http://sairah.rubberslug.com/gallery/home.asp )
I like to sometimes rotate stuff out to buy other things. So for example, I just picked up some drawing from Sleeping Beauty, so what I get for Robin will go to those. I also have a storyboard of Steele from Balto I am thinking of selling, as well as a cel of Mowgli from Disney's Jungle Book.

Ebay, animation galleries and local collectors. But be very careful when buying via Ebay. There are tons of fakes and they look very real. I can tell the fakes from the real ones, but many people can't. Not a terrible idea to contact a gallery before buying from ebay. they might be able to tell you what is real and what isn't. :) Drawings/sketches are one of the easiest to fake and they are all over Ebay.

backgrounds are easy to get. just have to pull them off the DVD and print them. Unless they're real, one of a kind backgrounds, they don't change the price when it comes to galleries and reselling. Its just a photocopied piece of paper. hehe

Other characters usually go for much less than Robin himself. That hasn't changed. Robin always goes for more. Probably because he is harder to find than some the of the other characters.
I wouldn't use ebay or Van Eaton as good examples of market value. Ebay, prices vary from auction to auction and Van Eaton is a discount gallery. Though I will admit I buy from them from time to time. Hahaha
