I wanted to finally post part of this, because this thing has been consuming my life for the last two weeks.
This is a WIP, keep in mind. . . it's not finished, yet. . . and only a small portion of the final image. But enjoy the sneak peek :)

Thank you, I was going to point this out as well ( a flaw quite common in many archery pics )
It may be on the proper side of the bow, but just obscured by the lynx's paws - but if this is the case, then they are gripping it too tightly and will suffer when the bowstring is released.

We can't see what position her thumb is from this angle, tho, so I'd venture to say she's holding it correctly. My hands-on experience with archery may be limited, but I can safely say I've never seen the professionals shoot with the point of the arrow on the -outside- of the bow. O_o
I've never been taught the outside-facing way, personally, I've always shot with the shaft of the arrow resting against the crook of my thumb. S'what feels comfortable and most natural. Anything else--to me, at least--just looks ... odd. Like holding a sword from the blade instead of the handgrip. =P

So far looks awesome! My priest asked me to send him a copy (he enjoys all manner of books with satanic-bargain tropes), and I've been thinking of binding him a dust jacket with a more abstract design to his taste... but I'm sorta ashamed to be cloaking something with this much effort. My ideal would be that when he's a few chapters into it, he can pull off the jacket and stare in awe at the art what's been revealed...
