Just a lil WIP and a taste of what youll find over on red-winged-angel.tumblr.com
It’s no secret I’ve been loving Rengar as my first choice for procrastination. So here’s a little Femgar in the night hunter skin for funsies, might finish this up post assignment time~

If rengy gets nerfed I imagine itll be so that his Q can't crit. I've found if I build crit I can two shot most people (which seems wrong even for an assasin), while if I go the hydra/feral flare route I still kill people but it just takes a moment longer. Which seems more in line with League's combat rate.
The problem at the moment is, is that all the bonus damage on his Q is calculated in a crit and can easilly allow 1000+ crits with just an IE.
I've been purposefully avoiding the crit builds because I know it's gonna get hit hard.

His ult kinda can't be nerfed otherwise he won't be the hunter/predator he's designed to be. Besides, stun him or knock him back after his leap and dodge the resulting chains and youre good, that or just get a GA and he wont have anything to use once you've revived.
He's tough, but he's not like say, Wukong where he can just leap into a full team and continue to live for 10-30 sec. Nor can he be so frivelous with his ult that he will always have it to escape or always have it to pinpoint someone. It's like any other assasin, you don't go anywhere alone or theyll jump you without a seccond thought.

Thanks <3
As for the backstory, the hero collects bones from his victims as he slays them and adds them to his necklace as part of his lore.
In game it adds bonuses the more bones you collect etc. Basically the hero hunts down lone players and takes them out, cause he can't really survive fighting a full team and he has no abilities that let him run away once he's done so.

Yeah it's something to consider when it comes to game balance. He might be super powerful but unlike his counterpart Kha'zix who hurts a little less and isn't as durable, Kha has a bigass leap that auto refreshes on kill or assist and allows him to jump away once he's eaten someone.
He who fights and runs away... God, my role playing games always descended into what amounted to Raggedy Ann stories, we never figured out how to balance games. I can balance drama, but not games. It's so cool watching you explain it. Hope school's treating you right for this!
In the media arts, no one has shame. I know the deepest sexual secrets of half my animation class, all the way up to the girl who fucked a horse in high school. Social anxiety disappears in a world of no judgement...
Oh god, I'm that way too... the only one in the class who seems to be firing on all mental cylinders and not all physical cylinders, as opposed to everyone else.

Aside from my 3d class making me scrutinize UV mapping and textures in games, the theory class makes me consider a whole lot more about game design aside from the initial representation and impact.
Example:
"Rengar is OP"
Well what makes him OP? Does his current build break the game by ignoring rules set in place for -every other champion-? Yes, his Q currently disregards the calculation of damage and bonus damage factoring into a critical hit and does far more than necessary. This then needs to be fixed, as it shouldn't be doing this.
"Nono his ult is OP, there is no counterplay it needs to be nerfed."
Well currently his ult is only slightly different from any other stealth champion in that it reveals nearby champions while he's stealthed and that it bolsters his resources which provides a misleading read on the immenent damage spike. Consider Twitch, Khazix, Shaco, Twisted Fate, Nocturne and Pantheon. All of the mentioned champions have a similar concept, appear suddenly and follow up with a brief disable before a near instant kill. The latter 3 can do so from halfway across the map, with Nocturne being capable of blinding the entire opposing team, blocking spells and having a near-constant speed boost.
There is counterplay for these characters and same counterplay can be utilized against each. Stun/root/knockback as soon as they appear (Nocturne being the exception), flash away and maintain distance when 1v1 (as theyre designed to win in a 1v1 situation without their opponent being significantly more durable.) In a 2+v1 situation you proceed to lock them down with stuns/slows and kill them before they kill you. As this is a team game with -both- teams having 5 players, this isn't a rare occurance that shouldn't expected.
"He shouldn't be able to kill me so quick, he'll be nerfed alongside Le-Blanc and Khazix."
Well firstly you're complaining about an assasin being able to assasinate, which is kind of what they do by definition. Their effectiveness is drastically reduced in any multiple target encounter and considerably increases the likelihood of your survival. The difference between Rengar and Le-Blanc/Khazix however is that he has to go all in on his opponents and not always expect to survive unless they were on their own. So it is understandable as to why he may deal slightly higher damage that the other two by comparison (though for single target damage it's hard to find anyone that beats Le-Blanc in burst damage.) The difference with Le-Blanc and Khazix however is that they have a near constant method of escape and the ability to leap over walls.
The reason why Le-Blanc will likely get nerfed or changed is that she can leap -and- return to the point she lept from -twice- in succession. Making it incredibly difficult to pinpoint her location for any longer than 4 secconds. Due to her build she rises well above most champions in both mobility and damage, that and the bulk of her damage is targetted and -will always land-. Unlike many other champions requiring a direct line of sight or requiring to land the spell manually.
Kha'zix is unlikely to be changed too much aside from his number scaling on attacks, as he does rather high damage with only a few items. But his damage and his mobility is conditional, unlike Rengar/Le-Blanc's all in all spells at once scenario. For one, the majority of Kha's damage comes from hitting a target that has no allies nearby. His mobility only refreshes on a kill or assist, so if he leaps onto a target that doesnt die he is incredibly likely to die himself. So as an assasin his effectiveness decreases even more drastically in a team encounter than other assasins. Compared to Le-Blanc who would only be hampered by disabling effects in the encounter, but would still retain full mobility and damage otherwise.
Basically what goes through my head whenever someone starts screeching for nerfs for any character/unit/monster in a game. Is it fulfilling it's role and does it stand on nearly even ground of units performing the same role? Does it disregard rules in the game set for every other unit to abide by? Etc etc.
If it doesn't break the game, fulfills its role/concept and is on even ground with it's peers, it's called learn to play and counter the unit. If your unit is incapable of doing so 1v1, consider not fighting 1v1, logically.
But this is why I avoid having an opinion on the internet because looking at this rationally or statistically is kind of a strange idea for most gamers. So where I will write a freaking thesis if I have to, it gets met with "BUT HE'S ACTUALLY OP, NOOB".

Took me a few days to research what all of those words mean, but the gist came through anyways. Thanks for being so candid! Better this than a reductive metaphor or something... "Kind of what they do by definition" XD Sometimes you as an audience have to shut up and accept that the game wasn't made to be fair, it was made to be fun. For every complaint against somebody playing Oddjob, there's the glee at playing Oddjob. ^^
Games provoke emotion, that's why people play them, and they can't appreciate your brain, I guess. Animation has the same problem; cerebral artists and flightily emotional audiences.
