The Tangard belt is a several thousand kilometre broad geological area spanning from an unknown distance into the arctic north through the central continent and yet on into the unexplored south.
All across this vast stretch, thousand metre tall spires extend from the rock, eroded by the millenias and tumbled in different directions by some unknown geological phenomenon.
This southern stretch is covered in an impassable canopy jungle, and is generally avoided by air traffic due to the innumerable flying lizards that breed in the tangled root nets on the shadow sides of the spires.
To date no expedition, search party or crash-landed ship crew has ever returned from the jungles.
