yup THIS is where I got my name from
Dunno who owns it but it was sitting on a street near my house
with very expired plates

I'll go with a water pumping Suby and the four speed. Buses have to much wind drag to really gain anything with a 5 speed. Unless you put a V6 or a V8 in them.

Cool, one "Kombi"! In Brazil they were made until last year, in the last year was created a rule that requires new cars have airbags, so the Kombi had no room for the airbags.

if I'm going to buy a Schwimmwagen or a Kooblevagen, I'm Keeping the dam thing because I've always wanted one.

besides, I don't know you from Adam. I saw a pic of you that mention Dark Natasha and saw VeeDubs in your gallery, which is the only reason I commented.

I'm guessing you are either in New Mexico or New Jersey, not sure which yet...

I have not had the pleasure of owning a Microbus,
but I did have a 1989 VW Fox GL Station Wagon (aka VW Parati)
built in Brasil, and a fine little ride with surprising power-to-weight ratio.

81 HP vs. about 2,100 lbs curb weight let this beast propel itself at speeds of 120+ MPH with no extra work,
and made it a neat little beast in off-road work.
