queue can you help me identify this spider? Heres another shot at it... I can't seem to hold my hands steady around them...

No reason to be afraid of them. As long as your not trying to put one in your mouth or anything like that.
Whenever I find a good sized orb weaver like this I try to catch a grasshopper or something like that to drop into the web for it. I find it really quite interesting watching how fast they can just zip over and wrap up an insect.

This is indeed Leucauge venusta (Orchard Spider), judging by the web construction, posture, and the apparent neon orange spot on its abdomen. They're very common where I live and I've seen them in my travels in Florida as well.
Don't be afraid of them. They'll just chill out on their web (though they sometimes shake the web if they perceive a threat).
