Greetings again from Alternate Mobius.
Sally sits with NICOLE experiencing each other's lonely pain. Here NICOLE gets the chance to tell how much she wants to be a part of things and make a difference; a chance to show herself as more than just "the hologram".
Sally herself can't let herself be overwhelmed by the loss of everything she's ever known when she has to be the strong leader for everyone. She finds familiarity in NICOLE because she's the only one who could come close to understanding her as the city and its order were as much hers to lose as the leadership of it was to Sally.
The two of them share many qualities with each other making it easier to express themselves to each other. NICOLE is the most logical person around making her the one person Sally can work with. Unlike Rotor, NICOLE can go without worrying about sleep which Sally can barely bring herself to do being so wound up about leading a rebellion. NICOLE is a living memory of everything the world was before The Event and Robotnik's tyranny making her the most trusted confidant a girl could have.
Sally meanwhile is an incredible, open-minded intellect who would actually stop to take a second notice of NICOLE allowing her to plead for the right to have a purpose. The notion of becoming what you never expected to be and the desire to help the populace did not go unheard and the princess found herself a brand new asset and close ally in the fight for freedom. Ultimately, she commissioned Rotor to build a unit that would free NICOLE from the captivities of the lone holo-pad that the drive had been plugged into in Knothole that NICOLE was projecting from.
These two talking was one of the major moments in the story. Their qualities perfectly matched like the cerebrum talking to the cerebellum after it'd been disconnected from the medula oblongata. I hope I was able to capture it right. I chose not to do it inside because damn all this background was already a pain in the ass enough than to have to draw up what Sally's quarters looked like. Plus NICOLE didn't have her mobile unit yet so...

You're right in how far her ears do look a tad too big -guess I should have minded the scaling- but I've been evolving my style to the likes of 
sallyhot's when I was originally all about Steve Butler's style. However, Sallyhot's version of ears are a little on the canine or vulpine level.

I'd be honored to be a member, but I don't know if my coloring skills are that impressive yet. I'd be happy if I just did the lines for someone else to color. Though I like his colors more than the muted ones Blazey uses if only because the brighter ones pop more.
As for an influence, I certainly hope I've gained enough to make mine have a better look like his while still keeping the better qualities I like for myself; I'm not exactly in favor of all of Sallyhot's quirks and I guess that's enough to be his own little signature. But I do have a nice b-day gift waiting for Blazey later this month which'll certainly be risqué.
In any case, I hope you've been following the rest of my Alternate Mobius works for the rest of the story bits I offer up in the descriptions.
