Phew, sorry this took so long. School can be such a pain x.x
this is my story to
dragontzin and
kazan.K for winning the contest. This is only the intro so far, with no weight gain yet, so it's only in scraps o3o. I would REALLY appreciate comments and suggestions as to what happens later, because I have no idea where I'm going from here :p
The scariest part of flying is always the lift off.
Dragontzin stretched his arms and yawned loudly as he walked into the hangar, the blaring noises of several cut-saws and blowtorches washing over him like an invisible wave. Despite the sudden rush of noise, however, the young dragon only barely managed to keep his eyes awake. Several workers paused and looked down at Dragontzin, his bright green scales and cream-colored belly scales a sharp contrast to the metallic gray surrounding him. His feathers, however, were what really brightened up the noisey, busy work room. Yellow at the base and red at the tips, his notable feathers ran across his head like a Mayan crown, reminding friends of his Mexican heritage.
Dragontzin yawned again and continued to shuffle his way towards the middle of the room, his yellow slit eyes peering around until finally setting his sights on the large vessel in front of him. The main body of the Kestrel towered before him, an angular shape of light grey metal, complete with two massive FTL engines located on either side of the rear, as well as a large, hammer-head shark designed cockpit mounted on the front a long body, taking up nearly a third of the ship's entire size. It's been said multiple times between employees that a ship that size only needs the cockpit and engines to fly, the other two thirds of the ship just extra space for the pilots to put their belongings in. Dragontzin, like anyone else who works for the Confederate Air Force, has heard these sayings before, and frankly he doesn't care. The space could be used for anything: Extra cargo, luxurious dining halls, hell he's been asking for a dance floor for over a year now!
Despite the overwhelming noise of blow torches and buzz saws, Dragontzin managed to hear the presence of two other furs behind him. Turning around, he was delighted to see the face of his superior, a fox named Major Sierra Palmer, striding towards him with another fur, a fresh young face Dragontzin had never seen before.
“Good morning, Major Palmer,” the dragon greeted with a quick salute, glancing to the wolf beside her. He had dark blue fur on his body, white fur on his belly and inside his ears, and a stripe the same dark green color as his eyes running from the top of his muzzle along his back and branching out along the backs of his arms. The green stripe split at the base of the wolf’s tail, extending along its sides, the blue of his body running along the top of his tail, and a pair of green fur “socks” covered his feet. The vertical golden bar clipped to the fur of his chest showed that the wolf was a Second Lieutenant, just a rank below Dragontzin, which was a little surprising, given the wolf’s youthful appearance.
Sierra and the wolf saluted back, though the wolf’s somewhat awed attention was more focused on the ship behind Dragontzin. “Good morning, First Lieutenant Dragontzin,” the fox returned the dragon’s greeting with a friendly smile before looking up to the Kestrel, “Isn’t she beautiful?”
Turning to the ship once more, Dragontzin nodded in agreement, along with Kazan. “Is that the ship we’re going to be flying in, ma'am?” the wolf asked eagerly, “It looks brand new!”
“That’s because she is,” Sierra informed the pair, “She’s the first of her model off the assembly line. And she’s also the reason you’re here.” Turning from the ship to the two furs beside her, the fox waited for them to look to her before continuing. “The Kestrel has a lot of new technologies, not the least of which is her new Artificial Intelligence. We need someone to make sure everything is working smoothly before we start putting more of these in space, which is where you two come in. Second Lieutenant Kazan, this is First Lieutenant Dragontzin. Dragontzin, this is Kazan.”
With mutual shyness, the pair turned to each other and shook hands. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Dragontzin! I've heard a lot about you," the young wolf said enthusiastically, his canine tail wagging quick enough to turn into a colorful blur. "It's nice to meet you too, and please, call me Tzin," the feathered dragon responded softly, flashing a bright smile before turning back and facing his superior. “Kazan, you’re job is to monitor the computer systems and A.I.,” Sierra instructed, “And Tzin, you’re going to make sure the chemical replicators and life-support systems work smoothly.” At the pair’s shared worried glance, the fox chuckled light-heartedly. “Don’t worry, all these systems have gone through rigorous testing. You two are the last step in the process, so you shouldn’t be too concerned. This mission is more of a formality, so I’d take it as an opportunity to relax and enjoy yourselves.” The two pilots nodded and saluted before Kazan spoke up, his abundant energy showing through his voice alone. "Can we tour the ship now, ma'am? I just have to see what's inside this ship," the young lupine asked, rubbing his paws anxiously. "Of course! You're the pilots after all," Sierra said with a smirk, gesturing for the two airmen to look around.
Kazan quickly dashed up to the front of the ship with Tzin right behind, both furs eager to examine their vessel more closely. Even up front, their starship was a sight to behold, the light grey metal shining brightly as if someone had devoted his entire life just to shining a single spot. Wasting no time, Tzin reached over to the hatch and pressed a circular red button, revealing a keypad. Pressing in the code of the CAF, 2684, the green dragon stepped back as a massive ramp descended from the Kestrel, the hiss of pressurized air being released resonating throughout the work room. Once open, Kazan quickly zipped inside, with Tzin locking up after him.
"No way, this place is even bigger on the inside!" Kazan exclaimed as he made his way through the spacious cargo bay while the feathered dragon slowly followed, looking around with mild interest. It was most certainly an improvement compared to the older models of ships he was used to piloting. The Kestrel was nearly one and a half times larger than the largest ship he's piloted, capable of potentially carrying a small army if he wanted to. As they made their way to the control deck, Tzin couldn't help but notice an abundant amount of cantinas and eateries located around the ship, as if the entire place was some sort of luxury cruise. To make matters even more confusing, the restaurants all had different themes, such as oriental, Italian, and Mexican. "I'm gonna need to come back here sometime," Tzin thought to himself as he passed the Mexican restaurant, curious to how a taco there would taste.
Kazan barely noticed the odd number of eateries, the blue and green wolf set on covering as much space as possible while he toured the ship. Being fresh from pilot school, he had tons of experience with stimulations, maintenance lessons, and other boring textbook work, but having the privilege of manning the CAF's brand new shiny ship was an honest dream come true! Finally, all of those hours of studying finally paid off. Despite how luxurious the ship was on the inside, Kazan was quite disappointed when he reached the cock pit, finding a small room with two seats sitting behind an advanced control panel. "Hey, what gives? You'd think the CAF would have some giant command deck with holograms and lights everywhere." Kazan exclaimed as Tzin walked into the room, finishing up a plate of tacos. "Huh, I agree, this is a bit underwhelming," The green dragon said as he sat down in the pilots chair, looking around the control panel.
"Then perhaps I can whelm you sufficiently," a smooth voice came from the console, a circular projector lighting up on its surface. Kazan and Tzin watched with mild fascination as, right before their eyes, a violet serpent with five eyes materialized on the projector. "Greetings, captains. I am the Autopilot and Automatic Regulator of Oxygen and Nutrition, or A.A.R.O.N if that's too difficult to say at once. As my name implies, I am the Artificial Intelligence that manages this vessel, preventing any-"
"Five eyes! You have five eyes!" Kazan exclaimed as he stared at A.A.R.O.N, not used to seeing holographic representations of AI's that looked so… interesting.
"That's because he's based off of 'Grentail Manor,' Kaz." Tzin explained, surprised his knowledge of famous science fiction stories is suddenly coming in handy. "He's a magical spirit who helps out others with magic."
"Impressive, First Lieutenant Dragontzin." A.A.R.O.N said, nodding slightly. "That's exactly right. While it's true my abilities are rather limited, due to me being a machine rather than a magical spirit. However, I believe you will find my abilities quite useful for your upcoming journey. Please note that I am currently still in beta mode, which means I could be… not useful in certain situations. Now that formalities are out of the way, I think a feast is in order to celebrate our companionship."
Both pilots smiled at the unexpected mention of food, Tzin still feeling rather hungry despite munching on a taco earlier. "I have arranged a banquet down by deck 3, which is the Italian restaurant if you're still unfamiliar with the ship's layout." With those final parting words, A.A.R.O.N flickered off, the projector's light slowly turning off. Kazan turned around to his co-pilot and smiled, looking much more lively after encountering the five eyed. "Well, we still got a few hours until lift off, let's see what A.A.R.O.N has in store for us."

Oooh this is very very interesting, a slight FTL space themed story with weight gain is very original and unique~ ^^
Well i have tons of ideas on how to expand on this story, and i think i know you do too~!
A quite obvious continuation here is that A.A.R.O.N will get more and more insistent on it's pilots being well fed, perhaps even going as far as to tie them to their chairs and force feed them trough a tube or such x//3
What you can also do is have the ship gain a new crew member, that would help and eventually even force Tzin and Kaz to achieve a new, fatter heavier figure, perhaps with the help of A.A.R.O.N, whether they like it or not! ^w^
Overall, the story looks really really nice so far, and i really adore the idea of a futuristic space story, especially with it having elements of weight gain!
I really wish i could've been in it! x//3

FTL is awesome, I glad you caught on! :D
Hmmm, that would be an interesting idea. The point of A.A.R.O.N being there is to try and gradually get them to gain weight without them knowing :o so forcing them to get fat might not work... but, lots of persuasion might work, as well as other alien creature who might force them to eat :3
THank you very much for your feedback :D

I love it, Denya! It is great! I am amazed at the way you introduce the characters in a subtile but effective way, giving hints of their personalities yet never stating really the way they are. I really like your style of describing the situations... The only thing else I can say is: I can't wait to see what's in store for these two handsome adventurers!!
