How I exist for now in many places, always more than one
Hiding beneath masks and faces, the truth being the least fun
Terrified of conversations, sickened to grow nearer than most
They're all too different in the lives they learn to host
I wake up so often now in the dark, oh god help me that dark
Listening when not to listen, kindling my own poor spark
I really am lonely I admit, in so many odd ways
But no mind can connect with my own, alas the wandering days
Perhaps I'll take leave again if it is not so soon
and wander some other lonesome place, another void to stay and maroon
