Photo from the first playtest of popufur. The game ran well and worked for all intents and purposes. However this version did not have fursuits in the game nor did it use any unique characters. Everyone started with the same stats, 5 con dollars. and 1 drama card.
I noticed that the drama cards were not as powerful or useful as i had originally thought so im going to be buffing them up. Also, a few of the room partys were a bit over powered (they gave out too many followers with too small of a booze penalty) so they were need some tinkering as well.
Ill be posting more updates soon and running 2 or 3 playtests per day for the next few weeks.
For faster updates, make sure to follow the popufur twitter account.

I have a statement actually. Why does it look so complex? Is there anyway to make it much more compacted and simplistic? Like Monopoly, Candy land, Trouble... etc... they have very simple board rules. Maybe the board should look like a hotel and you work your way up to the party floor. But a long the way you can get hit with security or someone who talks to much. Add little tweaks like stopping by con reg. to pick up your badge OR don't but risk getting picked up by security. Then add in the "popufur" part with people that give you stuff and photo ops etc...
I just think this is such a good idea (and normally I don't like games) I want to see it fair well for the public. Sorry my rough business behavior, I want to see this go far and help which ever way I can.

no your absolutely right! in fact, the original concept was WAY more complex, Ive been working on triming it down and simplifying it. and in fact there are several things I still want to cut and simplify. it looks as complex as it does for a few reasons.
1. im play testing multiple things that probably wont be part of the end game, and
2 since its all just beta tests with paper I printed out of a standred printer everything is blown up with more text than it needs to be.
the final board will be 2 11x11 squares, this thing im useing is monsterus in comparison.
a very over simplified way of saying how the game plays is, move draw a card, move draw card, move draw a card, move draw a card. then move to the room party phase where you do the same thing 4 times, tally up all the points youve earned then back to the con phase.
rinse and repeat 4 times
one thing im struggling with, for simplicity's sake, is stats and items. ideally, I would remove stats from the game, and give a player a single thing they can build upon, but in doing that I severly limit how many items I can make, and how useful they would be, and since spending money is such a big part of furry cons I want that in the game.
