This is how NOT to learn to draw, and a trap that a lot of people fall into when trying to learn to draw, because they reference from artwork and not from life. I started learning to draw from anime tutorials, and it took me YEARS to overcome the damage that did to my drawing skills, getting human facial proportions right when you've been giving them tiny noses, giant cheekbones and HYOOJ eyes for years is really, really hard.
Case in point... If you're drawing an animal character, reference ACTUAL animals, mm'kay? D:

Criminey... I can understand maybe when someone's starting out that all their creatures look the same - heck I still have that problem sometimes. But when I see well-experienced artists doing this... it makes me die a little inside.
