Yah I saw something and figgered I'd try it
I've always wanted to get that "game sprite" look and I have never even gotten CLOSE before....
it doesn't quite look right but it's cool so I post it!
and yes I have always wanted to make a fighting game or old school brawler styled game.

I would say this looks to be an after win pose or a game start movie work, as such, very well done.
Getting the blocky look is an excercise in patience and research, you'll get there, if you try.
I started just messing around in MS Paint. If you want blocky 8-16 bit look, limit your drawing size to say, 58 x58 .
Then, up to 8--X zoom, and add grids.
Find a pic you want to duplicate. At that size, there will be a real sense of ok, this looks right, lets do the next piece.
RESIST the feeling to "draw" a line. Think paRappa on this one, and "Click click click the pix into the sprite".
