The orange and pink are less bright than that in person, more of a macaroni and bubblegum color. The pelted teal is also more bold in person (my camera hates taking pics of fur I swear)
OMFG CAN I GO BACK PLZ?! No seriously, I need an excuse/way to get back there T^T
I was such a space cadet while shopping, I was physically and mentally tired from the con and so overwhelmed by the sheer amount of fur to choose from that I was thoroughly just mindf**ked throughout my limited 2ish hours of time there.

Plans for these furs:
The muted pinks are for a kirin commission, I am dearly hoping they are willing to upgrade to a fullsuit since I have so much of the lovely short pink with shorter pile white diamonds in it, the stuff looks like scales! (if they don't use it up I will gladly take another pink dragon/kirin to use this fur on!)
The bubblegum and palest long pink is for myself.
The bright teal for a potential customer's dragon.
The pelted teal to make belly scales on a body for the Copper Kirin
The mint green and macaroni orange I got to have on stock as mint green is always impossible to find (the one one mint is a nice seal and the other has a light blue base, soooo pretty) the macaroni is a color of DF I have not seen online.
The short lavender was a pre-cut yard impulse buy.
The long periwinkle blue also an impulse buy.
The green OMFG THIS GREEN it was my last find as all the stores were closing, very pretty and is slated to make a forest-theme deer with. I need to find a customer who wants to buy a realistic neck-vision deer suit made primarily with this spotted/dappled green fur used with brown and white, with tree branch antlers complete with a few leaves... ANYONE INTERESTED IN SAID DESIGN CONTACT ME I will add you to my commission list even if closed!

.... despite finding the 7ish hour drive SHEER TORMENT past the 3 hour mark.... I wanna go back, I want that long tan I thought about but did not get, and that solid green I saw at the start of the trip to go with the spotted green, and a brown to go with the spotted green (agh why did I find that spotted green at closing? I could have gotten all that was needed to make the planned deer suit)
... IF I LIVED NEAR LA I WOULD NEVER NEED TO MAIL ORDER FUR EVER AGAIN OMG

Back when I lived in Cali I would go there for my fur. I made an entire suit using the fur and I noticed that it was rather cruddy quality. The fur would look nice until I just barely moved in the suit. Then it would stick out like a mess and it was a pain.
Hopefully you don't have the same issues with the fur you bought from there!

Beastcub, I've been a silent admirer of your work for several years now. I have no money. NONE. And likely... I probably won't have any to spare on suits (taking care of a 6-person family will do that to yr pocket change). That said, If I had any expendable income I would be on that green forest-theme deersuit like white on rice. Hope someone gets it, I'd really love to see that. That green is truly perfect.
you are semi local...
hmmm...
Heck I have a minivan, me plus a driver plus 2 other people to split gas with (my van holds 7 but with the back seat out we have A LOT more room for fur) and maybe hotel with (vs doing a round trip in one day) and I'd go just to go for fur.

Pft I'd be totally down! That drive is gonna SUCK (I've never drove to LA) but honestly I've done longer before xD
it'd probably have to be after SDCC at the end of July though :D
Ever sense i got this rare electric blue short pile stuff i've been itching for more just to hoard xD

I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate the drive and having just done it I'd certainly wait a while, also heat is a concern, from what I know that day was a particularly cool day for that time of year with good wind and I was still on the warm side... I overheat easy (ironic as a fursuiter am I right?)
I was thinking late fall maybe, cooler weather, zero cons or events (for me at least) and thus I'd actually be itching for something to do, would make the road trip more bearable X3
The drive is murder but OMFG if you have never been there I would love to go with just to see your reaction, the first place we went to left me so mindscrewed just to see that much fur in one place, like 80%-90% of what you can get online was there (the only CR Crafts/MM fur I saw was white fox and white/black teddy, but I felt like everything else you get online was indeed there) plus soooo much that you never see online! There is so much I passed up that I am now whining about not getting *twitch
(cough* not that I have any room for it *cough)

Oh I mean it's been around 100 here so I'm kinda used to the sucky heat haha
Ohh I like that idea as well, that's usually when it's the most dead for me too.
Ahh that's amazing!! I feel like my inital reaction would be excited glee which would then turn to despair when i realize I can't buy all the things xD

Okay so lets keep it in mind, hopefully we can make it happen *fingers crossed.
Talking with my sister, who would be the driver, ideally we'd stay the night someplace rather than drive 14+ hours all in one day X_X so keep that in mind!
Also the places ALL close at 5pm so to arrive with any time to shop on day one we'd have to leave Sac at like 7am, which while we could just shop day 2 it'd be best to shop both days just because gawd daum did I ever mull over things on the way home and start to rethink what I did and did not buy... so time to shop once, then think for a night, then shop again would be great.

They have 2 in SF, I'm not sure about one of them but I usually go to the one on 11th street and they have a pretty decent selection of furs. I'd highly recommend heading in there this month if you're able to they have a 25% off sale on furs and a lot of other fabric http://hosted.verticalresponse.com/.....97/8c297b0d76/
You got me curious, and I did a touch of research.
Megabus has bus services from sacramento to SF, and from SF to LA. Sometimes their fares are as low as a dollar, but typically they're more like 10 each leg.
It just so happens that megabus's LA stop is only a 20 minute transit ride from the fashion district: https://goo.gl/maps/qQYQ7
There are overnight options for the SF-LA route and the LA-SF route, so if you can sleep on a bus for two nights in a row while someone else does the driving, you could even make the trip without having to purchase a hotel room or find a friend to stay with:
* Depart from Sac at 9:15p, arrive in SF at 10:45p
* Depart from SF at 11:30p, sleep on the bus and wake up in LA at 7:00a
* Hop public transit to the fashion district, get there by 8:30a at worst
* Shop your heart out for the whole day
* Hop public transit to arrive back to the megabus stop before 11:30p
* Depart from LA at 11:30p, sleep on the bus again and wake up in SF at 7:00a
* Depart from SF at 9:00a, get back to Sac at 11:00a
Total time away from home: about 38 hours. Four megabus legs at possibly as low as $1 each, and two public transit trips at also about $1-2 each.
And you can get as much fur as you can stuff in a large suitcase (check out megabus's luggage policy). Vacuum bags would probably help.
There's about a six hour gap between the closing of the fashion district shops and the megabus departure. You could close that gap at the LA side (There's a 5p departure and a 7p departure as well), but those end up landing you in SF at midnight and 2am. Since the SF->Sac megabus doesn't leave until 9a, it leaves you waiting out that gap in SF instead, unless there's a late night option I don't know about, or you get a friend to fetch you.
A lot of info, but potentially a trip to the fashion district that costs about $8 and 38 hours of time (some of which could probably even be spent hand sewing).
Or 30 hours of time and about $40 if you can get a friend to drive to SF to fetch you.
