Being someone who shares sketches and doodles pretty liberally as featured submissions, this comes up a lot (mostly on FA, IB seems to embrace sketches slightly more). The notion that a sketch is an unfinished piece or a work in progress is actually a pretty universally accepted thought - so I certainly can't blame anyone for thinking this way.
But perhaps I can introduce a different way of thinking.
I understand the desire for fully rendered and detailed images on sites more oriented towards idea/character presentation rather than simple joy in the artistic process. These are for the mainstream and sketches are for the lazy hipsters. But I personally feel that sketches can have more life and energy than any colorful, vector inked image ever could. Just look more closely!
This pursuit of cleanliness and perfection (though I admit advocating for it at times) can lead to really stale and lifeless work if you're not carrying the energy of that initial sketch onward, or if said sketch wasn't any good to begin with.
I look at a lot of my fully finished, inked, shaded work and I really don't like it. I liked the sketch of it better. It's almost to say that such a picture WAS finished and completely perfect when it was a sketch. Now all this polish and shine has, in fact, just muddied up a perfectly good drawing.
Just some food for thought ;)

Ever do pen sketches like so? http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Rcfcbqilk.....wing%2Bemu.jpg
In this example, all the shading and detail was done with the same tool used to sketch, presumably.

I have that problem and for the life of me I don't seem to get rid of it... every time I come up with a good idea and sketch it out I feel like I have to make it a fully detailed piece which takes loads of time and effort and kinda kills the innovation since once I come up with an idea, I'm sort of committed to it to the end and no time for new pictures/ideas.
A sketch is a style and a type of art in its own right.
No one use to really questions it with non-digital materials it has only been since the pick up of digital art that a sketch has started to be looked on as something incomplete digital or non digital.
Its probably due to people lack of education in art and art styles combined with peoples increased exposure to art online in communities that bottle up only a few images as to what art should be.
As expressive as the furry community is, it still gets tripped up into the same traps as everything else, thinking in one direction that is not always the right one or as open minded as people think.
Go with the sketchiness I love sketch art! And I love your style!
I watch some artists just for the sketches they put in there scraps folder, its just to bad they don't understand why I prefer it to the full coloured, over worked, dribble many people put out over and over.
Keep it coming! =3
