Time goes fast, doesn't it? I imagine that I'll be old before I know it as well.

What a wonderful picture... that small moment in time and a discussion between two old friends. Wonderfully done Hauke. I think I'm beginning to like Walther.

The piece is very well written with a plot that flows naturally and both characters do seem very well fleshed out and like real people. Thanks for sharing and it was fun to read also.

Very nice. For myself, I'm just now beginning to realize and feel that kind of... separation... from the generation that followed mine. It's like having the sand shift under your feet -- not enough to lose your footing, but just enough to be a little disconcerting. For the first time in my adult life, I can feel that the world is changing, and while it may be for the better, it's still change, and I have that little glimpse of fear at being left behind.

At any rate, a nice atmosphere here. >^_^<

It wasn't hard to get the atmosphere...the night before, we grilled dinner and sat on my back porch on opposite sides of a long table, with the grill at my back, and talked about the math class I'm teaching this summer and how a lot of them just don't "get it". :>

Fine work, Hauke. Love the emotion and the sense of frustration within your character.

I think his frustration mostly comes from having an ideal that only operates for others and not himself...lots of folks have that problem. Glad you liked it!

Interesting. Slow-paced. Not familiar with the characters, I think I got really small amount about what is going on here, but it didn't stop me enjoying this. Very good dialogue, the characters seemed somewhat real even in a short piece like this. Great short story.

I think the original story Walther was from wasn't a Thursday prompt story, which might be why he's unfamiliar. I didn't think about that while I was writing it...
