I Fink My Birfday Is Up There Somewhere
One of the problems with being a Very Small Squirrel is that many things are Very High Up. It is going to be a very happy and exciting birthday for 
Gem very soon, but for now all she can do is speculate about what's up there atop the table. Something is glowy. Experimenting with her arm, she finds that reaching the glowy thing is quite impossible. Well, you never know until you try, and discover that your arm is about 1/10 as long as the distance from you to the table.
I played with my usual perspective tricks, trying to show that we are looking up past Gem, and in the background we can see another room and its ceiling and a window. Also, what we can see of Gem's outfit is a nod to her theory that grownups like to dress up babies like fruit, a mango in this case. (Gem told me she likes mangoes.) Lots of warm colors in this one.
Happy birthday, Gem! I know you are feeling poorly right now, and I hope that goes away soon. Maybe this will help -- or at least help distract you. I also know that some portions of your birthday celebration are going to have to be late, so I hope it's ok that this is too. Many hugs and happy wishes to you! :)
