Just wanted to say, I really love these. ^^ I have many favourites, liek the Archeopteryx, the NOM thylacine and the Baiji. I think it's a really good idea for you to do themed sets like these, they are really nice! I won't be at AC, but I will surely preorder some from you via your lj.
I've actually got two button machines, one makes 2.25" buttons, the other makes 1" buttons. I really want a !.5" machine, too... maybe if I start using the ones I've got more. XD
They're pretty expensive, but I paid for them with button commissions before I ordered. XD
