So remember that blank I put up recently? http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13593603/
I had such an excitement for making it that I just... went gung ho a couple nights ago and made the head INSPIRED by Harry Potter's Buckbeak.
straight on from about 6 PM to about 12 mid day the next day when I finished airbrushing.
Honestly I wanted to keep going with him when I could and make a fullsuit or something for an epic cosplay but I just... I NEED money to ship a bunch of things, get some food and pay some bills. So he's all I got to sell.
I'm asking $700 (in half and half payments at least) Sold
Specs:
Silicone tongue,
Hand cut feathering in the fur. (will have a video tutorial on that posted as soon as youtube decides to let it load more than 31%)
Grey luxury shag from fabricempire. White wolf fur with black tips in the chest area!
Real grey feathers hand placed into the hood.
Zipper in back.
Airbrushed details
Moving jaw (as always)
Resin eagle base
Follow eyes
Soft black fabric lined foam padding on the inside of the forehead.
Hood is large and would fit a 24" head but sadly the hinges on the blank are kind of tight on the face. I'd suggest thinner faces. I've tried stretching this blank out many times but it never did too much. It's not horrible but not incredibly roomy.
;_;
I'll take offers on here. if there are no takers I'll put him up on furbuy.
(*cough* if someone wanted to keep going with the costume I know clockwork creature is selling horse tails *cough* http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/pro.....essories/other )
I MIGHT be able to tackle arms, gloves, and maybe even hooved feet perhaps with hooves from Dreamvisioncreations as a project for this. No guarantee on completion date as I have a few partial additions I need to finish for other items. and previous commissions. For full partial price There would be a very lax payment plan because of such lax deadline! But for the head I'd prefer payment up front if possible!

Wow he looks great! Did you really work 18 hours straight on him? I am tempted to buy him but I don't think he'll make a good home with me as I simply love my Victor Redtail character too much as I feel natural as him. I have a 2nd Fursuit who has not been out in over a year now. I need to fimd time to play Isaiah Eagle. This is why I am afraid to buy this one. But based on this amazing work on this head I am tempted to ask you to build a Red-tailed Hawk head but I am not sure if you are taking commissions.
Minus the resin blank preparation ^_^ putting the blank on the mannequin, making the pattern, cutting, sewing, gluing, shaving, detailing, and airbrushing yes indeedy!
Your fursuits are just gorgeous!!!!!! After I get most of my resin blank orders done, and finished suit projects heavily worked on I'll decide if I want to do more custom commissions :3 I really do love the creativity that goes into making finished heads! anything but heads are a little more in the dark area for me as I haven't experimented with them as much as I have making many different heads. I've gotten pretty swift at them ^_^

I just posted a journal about this because this head is too cool...

This is amazing. There's just one thing that makes me wonder:
While the feathers look all clear and defined now, I wonder if they keep well during wear, or if they need to be combed and re-shaped often. I'd imagine that the fine structures might get blurred when the fur is ruffled a bit. (And that happens very fast if lots of people want to hug.)

Wow! Hippogryphs are the reson I read the 3rd Harry Potter book. (Got it for Christmas from an uncle I never see and I wasn't reallyinto the books then.)May I ask were you get the eyes from? I tried to make eyes like that once but found out that you could only see the design from straight on. At an angle, the eye would look "silver".
