Babe, scenery like this is simply serene and blissful to me. I love nature and trees. I know it's a park but I feel like you could do dark damp forestry with perfection (it's an obsession of mine).
The love in this picture is peaceful, so many warm fuzzies ^_^. That basket of goodies looks divine!!! I love fruit and cheese with wine hhhnnnngggg my weakness!

I don't know if you've ever explained it (and if you did, then I'm just a turd), but does Axel's hair shift for any particular reason? Like, does it change to the color she wants it to be at that moment? Or does it reflect her mood? Or perhaps take on shades of her surroundings?

Oh no it's cool! I probably explained it in some obscure place. I'm also kinda wary of explaining the 'science' behind it because I've seen a coupla peeps market on this design but put it on their own characters and I feel like the only thing I have left to call original is the fact that I thought up a scientific explanation and also how the phenomenon occurs 8D;;
But as for her hair colors, it tends to show off a gaseous dust color relative to her own body temperature, and is constantly changing- imagine like how clouds float past the sky, it's like that. These star formation regions are also only reflective of whatever hemisphere is visible during that part of the year. There are two main nebulae classifications that I like to pick between depending on her internal temperature. Emission nebulae have high temperature gasses, and usually are red reflective due to the high hydrogen levels. So colors like reds, oranges, pretty much any 'warm' nebulae are seen when her body temperature is on the rise.
Now on the cooler scale you see Reflective nebulae, which- just like their name suggests, merely reflects the colors of light given off by nearby stars. Blue, and colors similar, scatters farther and easier across space and therefore is more often picked up by these types of nebulae. So simply: Reflective nebulae= cooler colors= are shown when Axel's body temperature is lower.
But a lot of times these two categories of nebulae are seen sidebyside, and in these cases they are called 'diffuse nebulae' and I like to make up some cocknbull about how when I draw this, it's an indication that her temperature was once lower or higher and is alternating to the opposite :D Like a transition. (So say she's getting mad, so it's getting warmer- or getting sad, so it's dropping in temperature)
Hopefully that explains it somewhat!

Well damn, missy. I wasn't expecting so much science, but that makes her even more awesome!
Have you seen the new rehash of Cosmos with Neil DeGrasse Tyson? You seem like a sciencey chick, and I think it's something you might enjoy (if you haven't already).
That totally makes sense though.
What inspired you to make her galaxy hair? Was it just a passing thought one day that you ran with, or was it a plan as part of her character development?
Also, I know I say this, like, all the time, but you and Tam are seriously amazing. I'm pretty sure I'd fall ankles over tits for you gals. <3

I know you hear it everywhere nowadays, but I love science. Mostly because I know so little about it, and there are just endless amounts of scientific fields to study and with science, it never really ends. There is no 'we know it all now'. It's a constant state of evolving information :D
But yes! I absolutely loved Cosmos, especially with Tyson's hilarious comedic relief throughout the show. I watched it every week it would air, and now that it's over I'm freaking out because I want them to make more seasons D8
Well, Axel is pretty much just a representation of all the things I love/my personality hypersonified. I was tired of drawing myself all of the time, so a little over three years ago I sat down and drew a girl. Physically I wanted her to be everything I wasn't (busty, tan, freckled, taller, thick, with sectorial heterochromia, etc) But I had been more and more interested in the science of space and celestial bodies. Back then I had never seen or heard of 'galaxy hair', and it wasn't something you saw around.
So, I drew her with a reflection of the Keyhole nebula in her hair. And posted it, and from there I just kept developing her character more and more.
But now, you see that kind of thing practically everywhere. And while it really stings, there's no way you can take an idea like that and keep others from using it. If it was something I loved enough to make a reflection of myself and continue building on for years- of course there would be others who loved it too.
Oh man I'm just me ahah 8D;; I never know how to handle compliments, they hit home and they mean a lot but I'm just like: HEEHEHEHHEEE I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS WARM FEELING IN MY CHEST IS, MY FACE TINGLES FROM YOUR WORDS.
Which is really socially awkward on my part xD
Oh man Tam is the best, I roomed with her and the rest of the group at FWA and got the biggest after con sads ever once I had to leave D8
