
Taking a picture of a butterfly is, I believe, a photographic rite of passage. You will do it at some point or other, perhaps between flowers and sunsets; you'll shoot at the widest aperture your kit zoom will give you and play with the DoF; you'll crank up the saturation and vibrance in Photoshop; you'll center crop the subject but land something on a crash point and call it a composition. My mate and I visited the butterfly house at the Del Mar Fair this past weekend, and I took the chance to get this one under the bridge. Focal plane was narrower than I thought, but I'm calling it a happy accident ;P
