Multiple reasons I guess, I don't use tumblr^^
The Rooster Teeth guys make a TON of web content (comedy, let's plays, other game content) and Gavin is probably the derpiest idiot in the universe X3 But he he is most well known for his slow mo videos. He even worked on the first Sherlock Holmes movie!
They also recently made an indiegogo campaign for the movie they are gonna make, they raised a million bucks in two days.

they're called Achievement hunter, they're a group of gamers who make "let's plays" which is videos of them playing a game while doing commentary. They're working for a entertainment company known as RoosterTeeth which makes the popular web series called "REDvsBLUE" which is based around the halo series. And Gavin is just some british guy who's quite silly in his behaviour, and at best there's a bromance due to them both being straight (michael and gavin)
