This is a piece of concept art that's come a lot farther than I expected it to. This is a skytram aerie - think of it as a train station, but the trains are trams carried by dragons from one aerie to another, similar to modern air travel, they go back and forth at regular intervals.
The dragons aren't forced into this, they're intelligent and work for a wage, just like the less dragon-ey employees of the place.
Because of the unique function of the aeries, I'd imagine you'd only find them where dragons are reasonably common, but I'm still kinda trying to decide how I want dragons to *be* in Wayfarer. Either way, let me know what you think of the concept, and this piece |3 I'm really happy with it!

There probably aren't a lot of other jobs that would work for a dragon exclusively, and since the trams REQUIRE dragons to run, they're probably paid quite handsomely. I'd imagine this tram thing probably started as a partnership with some dragons in the first place, so maybe a dragon owns the biz.
A dragon that can take on a 'human' form would have a lot of other opportunities, should they want to take them, or they could just raze towns and be a dick x3.
I'd imagine it being sort of like a bus driver, some people would appreciate how much you impact their day positively, and some people would treat you like a means to an end - just like any other job. Definitely not a low job, though, especially given that a big slip up is bound to cost some lives.

I was just thinking of a way to do air travel in a steampunk fantasy setting that isn't air ships, and I figured that dragons are strong enough to ferry people around, and since Dragons in wayfarer aren't really all-powerful creatures, they could do it as a job.
