Beautiful American Toad found on the roadside a few nights ago. This one was apparently pretty savvy, as I moved him off the road once on the way down the road, but he was back on it when I returned. And he hadn't been hit by the some four-five big trucks that had passed by. He was pretty alert and active, so he was probably easily able to move when he heard (or felt) the vehicles coming.
Some of the younger, less wise, toads aren't as savvy... ;__;
Thankfully, this guy's still safe. :D
