Seriously I feel bad ;3; I have to babysit today and there's a nest in my truck!
Luckily there's no eggs in it as of yet. But I can't get it out without destroying the nest. D=
I want to get it out and place it in a tree near my truck. I already drove my truck twice and each time the momma bird comes back. This time I am gone longer then 5 minutes since I am babysitting.
So maybe this will discourage the bird. But the fact is. I can't get the nest out without destroying it. ;3;
I mean I can barely fit my hands into the gaps. But I can only touch it with my fingertips. XP And it's a quite a big nest for such a little tiny bird. D: And I do need to get this nest out somehow. XP
Help?

Are you sure there's no eggs in it? Because I think I can see one ;;
If the truck doesnt work (It's been idle long enough for a bird to build a nest in it, which can take several weeks) I would leave it be. Birds don't smell as well as some people seem to think (many can't smell at all) and the mother bird most likely won't be able to find it if you move it.

I checked. My dad was able to stick his fingers in it and said there's nothing in there but feathers.
And the truck works. And been driven alot. Last week was my last week to babysit but it was droved everyday. It only stayed idled for 4 days and I needed my truck today. So it can't stay. Specially since my dad will be driving my truck now since it's more reliable on Gas funds then his Avalange is. $40 is a full tank on mine. $50 in my dad's truck doesn't get him off E very much and he drives quite a ways to his work. And my truck needs to be driven or else it won't start if left along all summer.
So sadly I need my truck. I'll part it in the same spot regardless. But has far as leaving it alone. I can't do that sadly. :< Why I want to move it out in one piece and place it in a tree behind my truck.

If you really want to salvage the nest you'll have to remove the grille. Fortunately, they generally come off easily.
Look for all the hardware that holds the grille in and remove it.
Give it a few firm pulls as it's probably held in by some retaining clips as well. The clips may break, but the bolts up top will hold it on just fine.
Be mindful of the side marker lights, as you may need to remove the bulb and pigtail (wires and socket) that mount into them. If so, turn them 1/4 turn counter-clockwise.
Everything goes back together the same way it came apart.
If you don't feel comfortable doing this, that's understandable. I wouldn't recommend leaving it as it's a slight fire hazard (though extremely minor).
