I use a Nikon D3200 with the kit lens (18-55mm)!
I am completely satisfied with both, although the lens is not the best in low light or with depth of field..
I am hoping to get a new lens soon to fill those gaps though. Maybe also a cheap telephoto if I get lucky enough.

Yeah, its not too horribly priced either. Pretty much a good entry level DSLR for people getting into photography who dont need to be super pro.
What camera do you have?
Also, you can't get as close to the kit lens as say, a macro lens, but its not too too bad, and the zoom really makes it almost irrelevant.
