You can! Look up a book called "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge. Even if you can't remember your dreams, there are exercises for that too. This is also a good reference site for LD: http://www.lucidity.com/

Also, the best part of lucid dream TFs is choosing the TF trigger and method. The important thing in choosing it is to decide on one you'd really enjoy and immerse yourself in.

I've... actually had a similar dream a few times. Most recently, back in March, when I dreamt I became a kind of feral dog by wearing this strange sort of suit. For some reason I had to blend in with other dogs in the house, learning to walk on all fours and avoiding shadier people while confiding in the few that knew who I was.

DAMN, that dream was freaking amazing.

Sadly, I've not yet had a recurrence of the dream, but it sure as heck has been burnt into my memory, it seems. <3
