That is, I am not at all skilled with computers. Or Photoshop. So the image looks pretty low-res (also probably because I turned it into a .jpg)

1st. You're traditional artist, you'll do much better with Paint Tool SAI. Believe me. PS is more for photo edit/correction, than for drawings. And PS is too heavy and overloaded, comparing to SAI.
2nd. FA and tumblr limit .jpg pics by 1280 px for bigger side. If you upload something bigger, it will be resized. Doesn't work with big .png however ;)

Is SAI available for the Mac? Also, it's important that I know how to use Photoshop for career purposes, so... I might as well get all the practice I can on it.
I've got Painter, too, but I find it's too laggy to really use much.

Well, comparing to both PS and Painter, SAI is lightweight. However it has a great potential, like, if you take a look at my gallery for the last 6 months, there are only SAI paints :3
And I bet I've seen this thing for Mac. Can't say more about it, but I'm sure Google helps ;)

I used to use SAI when I was still on a PC, so I remember how it works. I know you use SAI, too. It's certainly a more simple program.
However - for concept artists, Photoshop is often a job requirement. It might be heavier and more geared towards photography, but I've seen some stunning works by digital artists using PS, and it's great in that you can combine it with Painter if need be. Perhaps it's not the best choice for someone so rooted in traditional art, but I'm determined to learn it just the same. At the very least, I think it's a good exercise. (I really don't want to have to install any more programs on my computer, either. Perhaps later.)

I use PS for my job (along with AI), and yes, it can create digital wonders. But in my first post I said: you're traditional, you'll do much better with SAI. And as for drawings, that's my point :)
