I'm alive after all! Man, it's been a while since I've uploaded anything -- graduate school certainly takes up a lot of time. Sorry for disappearing for so long, everyone.
Anyway, this is a speedpaint commemorating the baiji, or Yangtze River dolphin, a species of river dolphin that sadly went extinct several years ago. As you guys have probably figured out by now, I'm a big fan of dolphins, so it's still pretty sad to consider that these beautiful creatures are likely gone forever. And I'll readily admit that the anatomy is pretty inaccurate (references of these dolphins were hard to come by!) so I had to rely on my imagination quite a bit. Forgive me for the inaccuracies.
Also an excuse to try out a color scheme I usually would never work with; tried to get a sort of mystical feeling down.
I wish I had more time to work on this concept, but this will have to do. Took about two hours, on and off between writing papers, in Painter X.f
