The masking tape is used to make a pattern for the fur.
Teeth modeled by hand with Plaast - http://www.plaast.de/
The tongue is made of leather-covered foam.

Humm you did this head on 3d software , didn't? Would be harder ' planify ' the model to acquire the pattern for the fur? like some clothing software. would be possible cut the fur on a laser cuter

I can make a UV-map - that would work as a pattern.

It might be possible to cut the fur on a laser cutter. You would need a laser with a really big work-area and it would stink of burned plastic.

the laser cuter would make the things faster, other solution would be print the patterns and use it to cut the fur on the regular way. In any case the 'tape process ' could be skipped and you gain lot of time in this.

You would need a laser that is focused to only cut the backing and not the fur underneath. Without seam allowance the result would be to small. Also a UV-map is not optimized for sewing. The pattern would be very complicated and hard to sew together.
