I know this flies completely in the face of the fans/modern GW, but my Chapter Master is a female. Frankly the whole "women can't be super soldiers" is pretty boys club, since nothing in their creation suggests that it would be a process exclusive to males (since no male-only hormones are mentioned). I don't get why fans get so up in arms when even Rick Priestly, the guy who created the lore and most of the rules 40k, said he intended for there to be female Space Marines and said he felt disappointed that GW took them in the direction they did of being "male only" just so they didn't have to make alternate heads or armour.
I'm glad GW is moving away from the uber "balanced" "Tournament Mentality" to a mentality I'm more familiar with when I joined 40k: flexibility and creative freedom. GW is starting to get back into my good books again, now if only they would give us female Guardsmen mixed in with the males I'd be happy. GW has zero excuse why there are no standard female Guardsmen other than greedily wanting to use the same 5-10 year old plastic molds so they don't have to have new ones made. Wonder when they're going to ever initiative their promise of going completely plastic.
