The dragon even reached down to the wolf's feet, licking between his toes, along the tops and under his soles, taking in the earthy flavour from his slightly sweaty pads. The wolf could do nothing but shudder at the feeling of the rough tongue scrapping along his sensitive paws.

But implies a lesser opinion of. S'alright. I went through your gallery, you just like vore more. I probably would have written "or just vore" myself. Different priorities. ^^
Anyway, I don't really want to give spoilers. Guess you'll just have to sit at the edge of your seat to find out.

Just wait, the people who only search paws and navels every so often will find them. Well, like I did. :3
I am indeed impressed by Ximon's work. It's one of those pictures I can go back to and find different things each time, especially in the detailing (like dat drool, yo) on various bits.

Not really. I'm not sure how aware you are of this, but most people (and I mean a big majority) don't read the comments under a pic, including the artist's comment. There's a reason stories aren't very popular in the fandom. At least it's always pleasantly surprising when someone DOES read your stuff and goes the extra mile to compliment it.
There is that. And then there's the fact that these are so old. A lot of them are more than a decade old. I don't want to go all nostalgic "Them were the good days!", but I rarely see this much passion put into these kind of drawings anymore.

Heh, I know this all too well. :P I was more talking about tags and keywords being the things that lure people in. However, I can definitely sympathize with the lack of readership in the fandom. There are those out there who do, but they're a minority compared to the people who only know how to read pictures.
So true, and the times you do see this kind of detail? The artist is charging $300+ per commish.

Ah. Indeed. I find myself finding old pics that I'd never seen just because they don't have (sometimes any) tags, at least ones I'd search for. You might notice I go a bit the other way, giving everything I upload tag overdoses. ^.=.^;;
Looking at a pic is easy. Reading and getting invested in a story involves much more work, and by definition takes more time.
You kidding? I often see artists offering comissions for those ridiculous prices when their style isn't even that good. Photoshop allows many artists to put pretty textrues over their drawings, but if you pay attention to the backbone of the pic, like anatomy and perspective and such, you'll notice most of them are really, really bad at the basics. It's all pretty paint on top.
