Look, this happens a lot. i'm going to elaborate on what  dusk said and my own experience with this kind of thing. We all gotta start somewhere. I see you commission a lot of stuff with your char. Nothing wrong with that at all; it's great reference to start trying to draw the char yourself. And if you don't want to, or think "Oh I'm not a good artist" then at least try! The personality and the soul of your character will come through, and be helpful for commissioners whom you further contact to draw your OC for you if you choose.

The danger of a lot of TLK art and OCs people make of them is they are often trace jobs. Or platlette swaps with minute differences. This once again is a god place to start, but you need to move past this. Take Leo for example : http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10829976/ When I first drew him he was a "Grail Knight" and was basically a Simba head with a scar popped onto a suit of paladin armor from Warcraft 2 studio art. God it was bad, but still, it was a start. I helped me learn to draw, and use inspiration to something eventually original enough to call my own.

don't let trace job work ruin the potential your OC's have. It's sweet you got some free art out of the deal, hey, that's cool. But don;t let work like this define your character. Alway strive to do something a bit more XD

Thank you for further explaining and being so kind about it. This really helped me understand what Dusk was trying to say. Obviously, these are the first drawings of Kijani so they aren't very original. I do agree that the style is definitely not very creative. I just want everyone to understand that I have developed my character and found better artists to commission him. He isn't much to look at, just a grey and black lion, but I feel like I have worked very hard to create an original character that isn't just a copy of TLK. He is a very special part of me and I have worked hard to try and separate his style from the TLK style. Once again, thank you for being so sweet about all this. Please let dusk know that I'm sorry for the way I reacted and that I now understand what he was trying to say to me.

No worries, remember, critiques are almost never meant to tear down an idea. I'm guilty of having a thin skin often. The first reaction you may have to a comment may nit be correct, just give it time to digest XD. True trolls tho? Smite them.
