Raczoon's Critter - Skin texture
I truly, truly love the PolyPaint tool in ZBrush - it makes painting textures so much easier, and so much more intuitive! I swear, if I had the ColorSpray function in Photoshop, all of my work would be this nuanced in color. <3
As it stands, though, the body isn't really all that detailed, but this is due to how the body will be covered in thin fur that will obscure the skin's appearance. In any case, I had a blast utilizing my knowledge of color zones in the face and hands to create a convincing skin tone, along with passes of yellows, browns, blues, and purples in various areas, along with select vein placement. I still have some work to do with the teeth, gums, hands, and feet for detail work, and the eyes are purely there for placement, and will probably change considerably before the end product is ready.
This is becoming quite the project, and I must say this to all other 3D modelers - make a UV map before you start PolyPainting!! It makes the whole process so much easier, and I am paying for the mistake of forgetting to make the UVs even now. I hope you enjoy the screenshot!

Oooh - that could be a very interesting idea! : D I'd love to discuss doing this with you for sure! What sort of animal will the fursuit head be? Fur and feathers shouldn't be too much of an issue for me to sculpt out. Thank you for your business as well - it is nice to have people who are able to provide funding for a project. : D
