On the contrary. Honda had a lot more offerings in the 90s and were really pushing themselves to be a well-rounded brand with something for every taste. These days, take your pick from the over-priced econo-boxes.
To me at least, and let me add that I used to build Hondas for a living at the Marysville, OH plant, there is nothing special about their products, nothing that really sets them apart these days. Even their quality isn't much to brag about these days given that the Koreans and Americans have also stepped up their game. The TL is not a replacement for the legendary Legend. The ILX is not on par with the Integra. And as for the Civic, well, I prefer the 8th gen over the current. To me, it has better style inside and out.
They have been promising an S2000 replacement for years, in fact, on Honda Plant News TV, they'd tease working concepts of the car, but that was in 2008-2009 and there hasn't been anything released to the public as far a replacement is concerned. I am longing for an S2000 replacement, an Integra replacement, a Del-Sol replacement and a Civic hatch, and am really not that impressed with the current lineup. To me, Honda has gone too conservative. They're not taking risks... They already fucked their chances with hybrids by releasing hybrid models of their current lines when people wanted something unique like the damned Prius. And when Honda finally figured out that people wanted a stand-out hybrid, one, it was too late and two, they released that lousy Insight and CR-Z, two cars with no power and poor fuel economy for hybrids. That CR-Z should get a Civic engine and they'd sell like mad.
As someone whom used to work for the company, I am really concerned about their future. Honda cannot just rely on brand recognition alone because the competition have really stepped up their game and Honda is just standing around with their hands in their pockets. They really need to take more risks.

Honda's offering from the 90s to now havnt really gone away. There are plenty to pick from and still well rounded.
The TL is a large sedan. its not really suppoed to be much more than that. The TL type S however, ive seen and done some amazing things with. Even the newst SHawd models are fun to throw around on the street and road. Nothing has been lost there. The ILX, ill give you there since its a civic SI thats just been fancied up. You're missing the newest addition though, the TLX which ive driven a few times now and MY GOD do i want one. Quality is just how well you take care of your car these days too.
There was never really promise for an s2000 replacement, but rumors of a new one again and again. I dont want an s2000 replacement though, i want something new. Ive got an S600 and an S2000. I want a S3700 but that wont happen. Maybe an LS1 s2000 >.>
The integra id like to see back, but that might be a long shot. I would be okay with never seeing another civic del slow again. i want a hatch civic that ISNT a euro spec please. The CRZ is an amazing car even with its current set up. There's a local who races his. Its no CRX but its still pretty fast and light.
I wouldnt be concerned for their future, they're replying to the majority market and current regulations on transportation. they're doing whats proven to work for them for years. Their return to F1 will be what really pushes some cool cars imo.
