I can honestly say I've known Reed Waller for some time before he began doing Omaha the Cat Dancer, and he's admitted in print that I put the idea in his head. So when I drew this he was more or less forced to grit his teeth and pretend he found it funny. At least I never received any death threats.

Got out of it? Not that much. I know a few people somewhat, but when you hang around long enough and have been in enough places, you can usually count on meeting some people. You find out too that its not uncommon. For instance, I can say that Robert Heinlein once asked about my kilt in an evevator. On the other hand, hundreds if not thousands of SF fans of my generation can tell some similar story. Thenice thing about some fandoms is that fans and pros mix, fans turn into pros, and sometimes pros are also get into fans from the other directoin.
Still, the number of guys in underground comics I *don't* know is much larger than the number I do. I don't even know all *furry* artists, and I've been here since the start.
