A young xepter, they are pretty cute when they are little.
This species gain segments as they develop, and can control how many they have, often letting some split off from the main animal. These free swimming modified segments will each quickly form a new complete xepter, as the species is genderless and reproduce asexually, but due to their complex systems each one becomes slightly different in genetics as soon as it leaves the parent body. 2 or more individuals can combine their DNA through a complex ritual process, but it is rarely done since it is too much of a hassle for most. So if a xepter is bored or lonely, it can always create its own company, and they often do. :D Little ones like this usually travel in pairs or small groups.
