Yeah. While I think there's nothing particularly wrong with the more humanoid races, I do think beast and other different races are a lot of fun, too. I mean, it's a fantasy game, why be a plain boring human like in real life? Why not be a DRAGON MAN or BIRD WOMAN or something?
That's my exact mentality towards it. There's nothing wrong with those races, but they just seem too familiar now after every fantasy game has those same races. I always choose the monster creatures or non humans because this is fantasy, I should be something else than human if I want to lol.
And I always enjoy being the beast or animal creatures if they're available. If not, then I usually just go elf lol.

Yeah, I tend to gravitate to whatever seems most thematically different or interesting or unique. It could be, like, some creepy bug race, but because they have really cool flavour and feel really different, I'll often opt for something like it rather than plain human. Or it depends on what my character concept is, if I have one - maybe I'm making a character who's kind of an underdog, not really special in any way - he can be human XD
