The confession of a lost soul
a man walked to a bar one evening
staggering, cold, old, and weary.
his face without emotion
his hands without action
he sat at the bar, and ordered a drink
his face did not change
transparent to the world around him
besides the bartender before him
"I killed a man last week"
he said as he took a drink
"Slit his throat, let him suffer,
as he has made me."
"The police know...
They found the body this morning"
Shooting down his glass of whiskey
leaving some blood on the counter
"I want another, before I go"
The bartender, unsure how to feel,
Turned around with a cold shiver.
slowly pouring the drinks as he questioned
"Who did you kill?"
The man stared at the bartenders back
A crooked smile forming along his face
"why...I killed myself"
The bartender turned around with the drink
Standing in silence,
as the man was gone.
leaving a blood stained tip on the counter.
